Two Son Farm History – Past and Present
We originally raised Herefords in the eighties while living in Clay County then in the nineties we moved to St. Johns County, in 2000 we purchased property in St. Augustine where we opened an Equine business where my wife boarded, trained and gave riding lessons. Our cattle at that time consisted of one Angus Bull and commercial grade cows.
In 2010 we were introduced to the Florida Cracker Cattle and soon learned about the history, heritage, and the best approach to raising Cracker cattle which is the “less is best” method; Cracker Cattle have not only survived but thrive in a hot, humid environment making the best use of the lowlands to the uplands. We’ve become advocates of raising Florida Cracker Cattle and we’re sincerely convinced that this is the best breed for a small farm in Florida.
If you’re looking to start a herd of your own with no regrets then the Florida Cracker cow is the breed for you and you’ll help preserve a part of America’s livestock heritage. We buy and sell Florida Cracker calves, cows, and bulls. Come check us out.
